Hans Bauer specializes on biodiversity conservation and capacity building. With an interdisciplinary conservation science background, he has focused on carnivore ecology, human-wildlife conflict, management of protected areas, ecosystem management, sustainable development and higher education development. For 25 years he has been working on lion conservation, particularly across West, Central and the Horn of Africa. He has authored well over 100 publications, including the IUCN Red List Assessment for the Lion.
