Laikipia Excursion
The excursions consisted of visits to Laikipia ranches and conservancies to learn how they raise livestock commercially in rangelands that also support robust populations of all the African large carnivores and their wild prey. Participants saw the locally developed mobile lion-proof bomas, local herding practices, the use of GPS collars to aid in lion and livestock management, and the new Lion Rangers progamme.
